Control how an XLSX sheet lands on PDF pages

Excel to PDF opens one .xlsx workbook in an office conversion engine and exports it as PDF; legacy .xls files are not accepted. Print area, orientation, margins and scaling stored in the sheet directly influence how a wide table is divided across PDF pages.

A worksheet with many columns can break horizontally or become too small to read under its default print settings. Reviewing print preview in the source application first lets you adjust page breaks and repeating header rows before conversion.

Practical checklist

  • If the workbook is .xls, save a new .xlsx copy in Excel, LibreOffice or another compatible application before uploading it.
  • Set landscape orientation and a deliberate print area in the spreadsheet when needed; the converter page does not provide controls to redesign the sheet.
  • Inspect every worksheet in the downloaded PDF for missing columns, unexpected page breaks and the displayed values you expect in formula cells.
