Keep subject edges clean on a transparent or solid background

Remove Background separates the main subject in one photo automatically and returns a PNG. A transparent result can go straight into another design; choosing white, black or a custom color places the cutout on that solid background.

Fine hair, translucent material, glass and edges close in color to the background are difficult for automatic segmentation. A well-lit source with clear contrast between subject and surroundings gives the model a better basis for a clean boundary.

Practical checklist

  • Keep the background transparent for later design work, or select the required solid color before processing for a marketplace or profile image.
  • If edges break apart, retry with a sharper, higher-resolution photo where the subject is visually distinct from the background.
  • Open the downloaded PNG over both light and dark surfaces to spot halos or missing areas around hair, shoulders and product edges.
